PEX tubing is the distribution system for radiant floor heating.
Heated water is circulated through PEX tubing. The PEX tubing is installed above or below the floor.

How to Install Radiant Floor Heating: Climate Panels or Radiant Heat Panels
If you're trying to figure out how to install radiant floor heating, you'll need to apply climate panels or radiant heat panels.
Climate panels can be fastened to the subfloor by stapling.
Radiant heat panels (seen below) can be placed directly below various types of flooring, such as wood flooring or carpet. Radiant heat panels are a system of "pucks" that keep PEX tubing in place.
